This is my usual running route along the Chikuma River in Saku City, Nagano.
As I was running and enjoying the beautiful scenery of Shinshu, I suddenly looked up at the sky and saw something flying high above me.
For a moment, I thought, “UFO!?” 🛸
Of course, it wasn't. 😄
It was a hawk soaring freely through the sky. 🦅
Below the hawk was the Chikuma River, with rice fields, mountains, and the beautiful countryside of Saku City stretching around it.
One of the things I love about running in Saku City is that nature is always close by. Even on my usual route, I can discover something different depending on the season and the weather.
The rice fields change from fresh green in summer to golden colors as autumn approaches. The mountains also change their appearance throughout the year, while birds such as hawks can sometimes be seen flying high above the countryside.
Running is not about exercise for me. It is also a way to enjoy the changing seasons and experience the natural beauty of Shinshu.
This encounter with a hawk was just a small moment during an ordinary run, but it reminded me how wonderful the everyday scenery of Saku City can be.
I will continue exploring Shinshu through my daily runs and sharing the nature, food, local life, and beautiful places of Saku City, Karuizawa, and eastern Nagano.
There is always something new to discover, even on a familiar road.
佐久市でいつも走っている、私のお気に入りのランニングコース。
この日は、いつものように千曲川沿いを走りながら、信州の自然を眺めていました。ふと空を見上げると、空の高いところを悠々と飛んでいる大きな鳥が見えました。
一瞬、「UFO！？」と思ってしまいました。🛸
もちろんUFOではありません。😄
空を気持ちよさそうに舞っていたのは、一羽の鷹でした。🦅
広い空を自由に旋回する鷹、その下を流れる千曲川、そして周囲に広がる田園や山々。佐久市には、都会ではなかなか出会えない自然の風景が日常の中にあります。
特に千曲川周辺は、季節によって景色が大きく変わります。田んぼの緑、実りの季節、山々の表情、そして空を飛ぶ鳥たち。いつものランニングコースでも、少し周りを見渡すだけで新しい発見があります。
私は佐久市でランニングをする時間が好きです。運動をするだけでなく、季節の変化や信州の自然を身近に感じることができるからです。
今回の鷹との出会いも、そんな何気ない日常の中で見つけた小さな出来事でした。
信州・佐久市・軽井沢など、東信地方には美しい自然や美味しいグルメ、地域ならではの暮らしがあります。
これからもランニングを楽しみながら、信州の魅力を発見していきたいと思います。
